Balochistan Liberation Army is not responsible for recent bombings
KALAT, Balochistan – Government of Balochistan (GOB) in Exile condemns the Pakistani military regime for holding the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) responsible for the recent rash of bombing in public places. GOB believes that Pakistani intelligence agencies planted these bombs to create rift between the Baloch non-combatant population and the Baloch freedom fighters. GOB demands that the Pakistani military regime must immediately stop state terrorism and cease detonating bombs in public places.
Last week, a bomb ripped apart a tea-stall in Hub (primarily a Baloch town) where 13 ethnic Baloch were injured. This week, another bomb blast at a tea-stall in Quetta city’s Saryab Road, which is predominantly a Baloch neighborhood, resulted in five deaths and serious injuries to 17 people.
“The Pakistani intelligence agencies are committing state terrorism by planting bombs in public places and then using state’s propaganda machine to blame the Baloch freedom fighters for such cowardly acts,” said Mir Azaad Khan Baloch, General Secretary of GOB (Exile).
“The hallmark of BLA’s attacks are obvious because they target state infrastructure and military/government personnel, not innocent people. BLA members are professional soldiers and they know the difference between guerrilla warfare and terrorism. But, when innocent people of Baloch ethnicity are killed in roadside bomb blasts, it is definitely the handiwork of the Pakistani military regime. However, if the state intelligence agencies detonate a bomb at Chiltan Market (where military personnel shop) in Quetta Cantonment, the BLA will gladly take responsibility for such attacks.
“Besides damaging the reputation of BLA among the Baloch people, killing of innocent people and putting the blame on Baloch freedom fighters might convince the U.S. authorities that BLA is a terrorist organization. But, the Baloch people are well aware of the strategies of the Pakistani intelligence agencies, and will not be deceived by them again. The international community must understand that the Pakistani military regime is using state terrorism against the Baloch people, and that it must be pressured to cease such acts immediately,” added Baloch.
